Kyocera KPC650 Booster Antenna Tip

Most of the EVDO cards (PC5220, Novatel V620, Sierra AirCard 580) work the same way, you plug in the external booster antenna, and the built-in antenna is disabled and only the external antenna is used for sending and receiving. The Kyocera KPC650 is different.

There are two ports to plug in the booster antenna.

The port on the Left (the black port) will give your receive gains. When you insert on the left port, you will actually have 3 receive antennas and the little "lift up" antenna remains your transmit antenna (so make sure it is up)>

When you insert an external antenna in the Right port (look closely it is white), it engages a plunger that disconnects BOTH internal antennas, so you single external antenna is used for both transmit and receive. This is the recommended use for the booster antenna.

Be sure that the booster antenna is plugged in on the right connector for best performance
