We have read that this $25 PCI card will work with your EVDO Card. That means, you can install this card in your Windows Desktop and then insert your PC 5220 or Novatel V620 and use EVDO on your desktop. What is very cool, is that with our Windows Sharing EVDO Tip, you would be able then share the EVDO connection over Ethernet or Wifi. Testing Results are in - this card DOES NOT WORK! Another User Reports that it DOES Work. If you have additional information, please post at EVDO Forums Show Item From NewEgg.com (external) For comments or the latest info on this, visit this EVDO Forums thread. Our test environment was a HP Pavillion a 220n, Windows XP Home. SP2, 1GB Ram, AMD Athlon 2600+, 2.08ghz. We got the PCI Card and this is what it looks like: ![]() This is what it looks like with the PC 5220 card inserted: ![]() Here are the testing results. We inserted the PCI adapter in our Windows box, and we did get the following message: ![]() After restart and installing the drivers, when we inserted the PC 5220 card, the card was not recognized. We were stuck at the Insert Card message, the MCM software did NOT recognize the PC 5220 card. Next, we wanted to try on our Mac Dual 2.5ghz G5. We installed the PCI Adapter. Mac System Profiler, DID recognize the adapter. However, the PC 5220 card was NOT recognized when inserting it into the PCI adapter. As a bad side note, when the PC 5220 was inserted into the PCI adapter, the G5 would not start up. ![]() The good news, our PC 5220 card still works - the adapter or testing did not fry it, next, we have another PCI PCMCIA adapter on order and if it works (or doesn't), it will be reported here. |
