Sierra and Sprint Announce the Aircard 595U for Sprint Mobile Broadband
The AirCard® USB Wireless modems are a new addition to the Sierra Wireless product family. Packaged in a stylish, compact form factor, the AirCard USB modems can either plug directly into any USB port, or can be connected via the included docking cradle. Compatible with both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, the AirCard USB modems offer customers an alternative to both PCMCIA and ExpressCard solutions. The AirCard 595U is an EVDO Rev A USB Device that is compatible with laptops and desktops. KEY FEATURES - AirCard 595U
We will be getting in an AirCard 595U for testing and review soon. We will report more on Mac compatibility and performance, after it is shipping.
Mac compatibility Info: Sprint doesn't offer a native Mac Connection Manager. Apple doesn't support the 595 in the latest WWAN Update. Look for Sierra to have a native Mac OS X application for connecting (the 595U will still need to be activated in a Windows PC before it will work with Sierra's software, the 3Gstore offer's pre-activating the devices before shipping).
