Mexico's Iusacell Selects Franklin Wireless' CDU-680 EVDO Rev. A Wireless Broadband Modem

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 5, 2007 -- Franklin Wireless Corp, a
developer and marketer of wireless broadband communications
devices and
applications, and Mexican operator Iusacell
announced the
launch of the Franklin Wireless CDU-680 mobile broadband
USB modem on
Iusacell's CDMA 1xEV-DO Revision A network in Mexico.
The Franklin Wireless CDU-680 USB modem is available through
Iusacell
distributors and is the first EVDO Rev. A modem to incorporate
flash
memory, a GPS receiver and a unique swiveling USB connector.
As Mexico's only 1xEV-DO Rev. A network operator, Iusacell
has embarked on
a strategic and differentiating approach that focuses on
mobile data
products and services, which places the company as a leading-edge
technology operator. Customers can send and receive email
with large file
attachments, receive and send high-resolution pictures and
video and
wirelessly connect to the Internet anytime, anywhere. EVDO
Rev. A supports
peak data rates of 3.1 Mbps.
"The addition of Franklin Wireless' CDU-680 USB modem gives
our users the
flexibility they need to take advantage of Mexico's fastest
mobile
broadband network," said Jorge de la Mora, Data Solutions
Vice President
with Iusacell. "The product is compatible with multiple
operating systems
and incorporates sophisticated features our customers are
demanding."
The extremely compact CDU-680 USB modem provides a flexible
way for users
to connect to the ultra-fast EV-DO Rev. A network since
it is compatible
with any laptop, tablet PC or desktop USB port and operates
with Windows,
Macintosh and Linux operating systems. The modem defaults
to EV-DO Rev. 0
technology where EV-DO Rev. A coverage is lacking.
One differentiating feature of the CDU-680 product is the
onboard flash
memory, which eliminates the need for a CD or CD drive to
install the
factory pre-stored Connection Manager software for PC, Mac
and Linux
computers. Users also have enough space to store downloaded
music files,
documents and installation guide. Another unique feature
includes a
swiveling USB connector, which allows the modem to be raised
vertically for
improved radio frequency performance or folded away when
not in use.
"With the CDU-680 USB modem, Franklin Wireless continues
to push the
envelope with high-end features and capabilities for wireless
broadband USB
modems," said Mr. O.C. Kim, president of Franklin Wireless.
"We are pleased
to offer Iusacell's users a multi-platform connectivity
solution that will
enable them to connect anywhere, anytime."
Franklin Wireless products are marketed through Original
Equipment
Manufacturers ("OEMs") and distributors, as well as directly
to operators
and end users.
