Sprint Account Security PIN Required by 12/9/2007
Have you noticed some new questions asking for a 6-10 digit PIN code and a Security Question on the 3Gstore.com Sprint Order Form recently? The 6-10 digit PIN (all numbers) and Security Question is required for all new Sprint Acounts (EVDO Data Cards or Phones). Why is Sprint doing this? The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recent guidelines is to provide enhanced protection around your company and personal information.
To enhance account protection, Sprint
requires you to secure your account with a 6- to 10-digit numeric
personal identification number (PIN).
Starting Dec. 9 2007, if you call Customer Care or visit a Sprint authorized agent for account-related services (such as adding a new line of service), you will be required to
provide your PIN as proof you are the account holder.
Your Account PIN must be entered when you register for access to
Sprint.com, if you want to be able to manage your account online.
However, your PIN is not used to sign on to sprint.com. Instead, you
use a separate sprint.com username and password.
However, you can easily view and modify your PIN by signing on to sprint.com and going to Settings and Passwords.
If you forget your PIN, you can retrieve it in several ways:

be established in the Settings and Passwords area of sprint.com, or by
contacting Sprint Customer Care.
Remember to keep your PIN private. If you feel someone has gained
access to your PIN without your authorization, change it immediately.
