Sierra Wireless Updates Embedded Modules with HSPA MC8785V and EVDO Rev-A MC5727Sierra Wireless MC8785V and MC5727 embedded modules support new and upcoming feature enhancements, enabling OEM customers to “future-proof” devices in development VANCOUVER, B.C. – Sierra Wireless today announced two new additions to the company’s embedded module product line – the MC8785V embedded module for HSPA networks, and the MC5727 embedded module for EV-DO Revision A networks. The Sierra Wireless MC8785V is the only voice-enabled module for global HSPA networks available on the market today. With its extensive feature set and high-end functionality, the MV8785V is designed for OEMs integrating mobile broadband capabilities into fixed wireless terminals or portable handheld devices for vertical markets. Tri-band HSPA support and receive diversity on all bands make the module globally compatible, enabling OEMs to concentrate development efforts on a single product for use in all global markets. The Sierra Wireless MC5727 embedded module includes the latest in EV-DO Revision A technology and supports upcoming feature enhancements, enabling OEM customers to “future-proof” devices currently in development for EV-DO Rev A networks. “OEMs integrating mobile broadband connectivity into their devices need to be confident that the investment they make in integration and development will not be quickly made redundant,” said Trent Punnett, senior vice president, Marketing and Corporate Development, for Sierra Wireless. “We understand their concerns, which is why we work hard to ensure that we always have the latest wireless technology available to our OEM customers, as well as the support they need to get it integrated and to market as quickly as possible.”
