There are other companies selling a "new and improved, super-duper EVDO Booster Antenna". We have tested these and they are inferior (and super-pricey!). We have tested this very antenna and ran some benchmarks to verify that our Booster Antenna is indeed a superior product. Considering purchasing an antenna but not sure which one is best? EVDO Booster Antenna Facts:
- Many retailers sell the antenna separately from the cable (sometimes called a pigtail), meaning that will have to spend extra money on the cable to connect the antenna to your PC card/phone. If you see an antenna for $49, understand that you will have to spend another $22 on the pigtail! We sell the antenna AND adapter together for just

- Why are some companies selling the Booster Antenna for $269? We don't know; that seems to be a very inflated price, possibly to take advantage of customers who don't know any better. (UPDATE: the company selling the antenna for $269 has dropped its price to $179 - still over $100 more for the same antenna!)
- The manufacturer states that when using a pigtail, you could lose up to .5db of signal However, on some of the newer EVDO Cards, the only option may require an adapter cable.
- The manufacturer states that a cable length greater than 3 feet (the length that comes with the antenna) will cause signal loss. We do offer a longer cable extender, but do not recommend using it unless necessary, and we definitely advise against "chaining" more than one extender together.
- If you are currently in an EVDO fringe area and not getting EVDO coverage, a Booster Antenna could pull in the strong EVDO signal and give you a leap in performance
- Depending on your location, you could see a jump in speed up to 100%. However, the average speed increase is 20%-50%.
- The antenna is omni-directional, but we have found that if you aim it in different directions you can usually find the direction of the tower and get a bit better performance.
- The antenna improves signal/speed for both EVDO and 1xRTT coverage areas.
