CradlePoint supports Sierra Wireless Compass 597 EVDO modem, even before launch
CradlePoint recently released Firmware Version 2.1 that enables even more EVDO and HSDPA devices to work with the CTR350 and PHS300 routers, as well as Firmware 1.2 that does the same for the MBR1000. At the time the CTR/PHS firmware was released, Cradlepoint was in buyout negotiations with Sierra Wireless and worked to ensure that all Cradlepoint routers would support the forthcoming Sierra Wireless Compass 597 USB modem, but could not say anything until after Sierra Wireless' buyout of Cradlepoint was officially announced. This marks the FIRST time that we know of, where a 3G / EVDO cellular router officially supported a new EVDO device, even before that device was even launched! Congratulations to Cradlepoint and Sierra Wireless for what we hope is the first of many new trends that their relationship allows them to establish! Related Links |
