The coverage area spans Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway, Jacksonville, Cabot, Lonoke, England, Maumelle, Bryant and Benton. The network also extends along U.S. Highway 165 to Stuttgart. The Rev A technology allows Alltel customers to upload files five to 10 times faster. Average upload speeds will be 500 - 800 kilobytes per second with bursts up to 1.8 megabytes per second. The company's exist network offers upload speeds of 50 - 70 Kbps with bursts up to 144 Kbps. Download speeds will be beefed up to 600 Kbps - 1.4 Mbps with bursts up to 3.1 Mbps. The existing network offers an average download speed between 400 and 700 Kbps with bursts up to 2.4 Mbps. In other words, a user could download a 1 megabyte e-mail file attachment, which is about the size of a small Power Point presentation, in less than 15 seconds and upload the same file in less than 25 seconds. "Alltel Wireless is committed to bringing our customers the fast wireless broadband service they expect in their business and personal lives," said Joanna Miller, vice president of business solutions for Alltel in Arkansas.
