Windows XP disables EVDO when I plug in an Ethernet cable

ImageYour EVDO works great, however, every time you plug in your ethernet cable, your EVDO connection drops, has this happened to you. This problem was first reported on EVDO Forums.

Thanks to helpful people at Sierra Wireless, they were able to help diagnose the problem. There response was:

Please note that Windows XP has media sensing. This basically checks for the fastest network connection (either LAN or wireless) and automatically uses the fastest connection.

This tip applies to Sierra AirCard 580, Sierra PC 5220, Novatel V620 and Kyocera KPC 560.
