How to Text Message With Your Verizon EVDO ModemCommunicating via text message has become one of the most popular methods of staying in touch - and not just with teenagers! What many folks don't realize is that if you have a Verizon aircard and a Windows-based PC, you can send and receive text messages right on your computer using Verizon's VZAccess Manager software! (Sorry Mac users, this currently only works on Windows computers.) Text messaging with your Verizon aircard is quite easy! Simply open the VZAM program on your computer, and connect to the Verizon network like you normally would. Once connected, click on the button at the top of the window marked TXT (highlighted in the picture below). In this window you can perform all of the same texting functions that you could on a phone. Sending a message is easy, just type a number into the TO: field, then type the message, hit Send and away the message goes! When you receive a text message, VZAM will alert you with a little sound and pop-up notification (both of which you can turn off in "preferences" if you prefer) and it will appear in the "TXT" section.
