We're still a long way off off from seeing nationwide 4G coverage to rival the coverage of 3G, but Clear and Sprint are working hard to expand their footprint to make 4G a viable option for more users. Today they launched several new markets: Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Dallas-Ft Worth, TX; Greensboro, NC; Winston-Salem, NC; High Point, NC; Raleigh, NC; Durham, NC; Chapel Hill, NC; and Cary, NC. Below is an experpt from Sprint's press release announcing the Chicago launch: The wireless future just arrived in Chicago. Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced the launch of Sprint 4G mobile broadband throughout the Chicago area. As a result, streaming video, fast file downloads and uploads and turbo-charged web browsing are no longer just home, office or coffee shop benefits. Sprint 4G customers can enjoy a blazing fast wireless mobile broadband experience across the city, whether they’re working at a remote location, relaxing in Millennium Park, sitting at a favorite eatery or as a passenger on the Dan Ryan or the CTA.
