Accessing Your Cradlepoint or MiFi Administration Page
In the past, we've given you many tips that require logging into your router's administration page. Some of our readers and customers have had trouble logging into their administration page, because they are accidentally entering the router's address into the wrong area of their web browser. This week week's tip will clear up that issue, and provide precise instructions on exactly how to get to your Cradlepoint router or MiFi 2200's administration page, where you can change settings such as your Wireless Network Name (SSID), wireless security settings, and much more!
To access your administration page, you will need to be connected to your Cradlepoint router or MiFi 2200 (either via WiFi or directly connected). While connected, open your web browser of choice, and enter the proper address (see below) into your web browser's address bar. Note: Make sure you are entering the address into the address bar in your web browser, not in the search box that many browsers also feature!
Cradlepoint users: http://192.168.0.1
MiFi 2200 users: http://192.168.1.1
After entering the proper address into your your browser, you will be prompted with a login screen. You will need to enter the admin password to login to change settings or view the status. The default passwords are:
Cradlepoint Default Password: Last 6 Characters of MAC Address [This can be found on the bottom of your router]
MiFi 2200 Default Password: admin
Once you are logged in, you can change settings such as Wireless & Security settings, and view the status of your connection & router.
Check out this brief video screencast to SEE exactly how to access and log in to your router's administration page!
