Android 2.1 updates are finally starting to be rolled out to other Android devices, for some time the Nexus One has been the only Android phone to have Android 2.1. Yesterday Verizon began to roll out Android 2.1 for the Motorola Droid.

According to a Sprint document that was obtained by Phandroid, the Android 2.1 update will be released for the Sprint HTC Hero in the US. While the release date hasn't been officially announced by Sprint yet, it looks promising as the Sprint document specifically indicates that they will be releasing an update for the HTC Hero on 4/9/2010. Hopefully there won't be any last minute delays like there were with Verizon & the Droid. Stay tuned for more updates!
