ZTE Peel 3G for iPhone/iPod Touch Coming Soon to Sprint
Many users have been using the popular MiFi's
in conjunction with their iPod Touch or iPhone to supplement AT&T's
pitiful 3G coverage. Apparently certain companies have been paying
attention to the trend and ZTE has designed the Peel for this exact
purpose. It was recently discovered during an FCC filing and looks like a
seamless solution to bring 3G connectivity to your iPod/iPhone. The
Peel is designed to fit right onto the iPod/iPhone almost like an
extended battery would. Like its MiFi2200
cousin, the ZTE Peel will work on wireless 'B' & 'G' and is
designed to support up to 5 devices via WiFi. The device has a 900mAh
battery designed for up to 40 hours of stand by time and takes approx
2.5 hours to fully charge. It isn't clear at this time what the actual
run time will be. You can see by the pictures below the device will add
some girth to your iPod/iPhone but the trade-off is a larger more
dependable 3G network! It's just too bad they didn't incorporate 4G into
the device similar to the Sprint Overdrive. Due to its size, it's very possible they simply didn't have the space to incorporate the 4G chip-set into the unit.
