HTC EVO 4G Extended Life Replacement Battery Review

3Gstore is now selling an extended life replacement battery for the HTC EVO 4G that provides 25% more battery life than the standard battery that comes with the EVO 4G. This battery is the same exact size as the stock EVO 4G battery, so unlike some extended batteries, you will not need a different battery door to use it! Our extended life battery provides a 1800 mAh capacity, where the stock battery only provides 1500 mAh capacity.

HTC's specifications for the stock 1500 mAh battery claim that you can get up to 312 minutes of talk time on the EVO 4G or up to 146 hours of standby time. This means that the 1800 mAh extended life battery will provide up to 390 minutes of talk time or up to 182 hours of standby time for the EVO 4G!

We put the stock battery & extended life battery through a vigorous testing process to ensure that the extended battery life would provide 25% more battery life when using the most power consuming applications.

Brightness Level: MAX (Auto Adjust Disabled)
Screen timeout: NEVER

To ensure that there aren't any variables in our testing that may skew the results, we ensured that the exact same conditions and tasks were performed on both tests. For our testing purposes, we played an episode of a video podcast on repeat until the phone ran out of battery. KEEP IN MIND THAT WE INTENTIONALLY USED SETTINGS THAT WILL QUICKLY DRAIN BATTERY LIFE AND THAT AVERAGE BATTERY LIFE FROM NORMAL USE WOULD BE MUCH LONGER.

Here are the results from our testing:

Stock Battery: 2 hours, 31 minutes

Extended Battery: 3 hours, 45 minutes

As you can see, the extended life battery lasted about 75 minutes longer than the stock battery while using the most power consuming settings for the phone.
