Verizon Wireless: New Return Policy - 14 Days![]()
Over
the years all of the major carriers have shared one thing in common:
they all offered a 30-day trial period that allowed customers to
evaluate the service before getting locked into their 2-year contract.
This allowed users to determine if the device and service would fully
meet their needs, without worrying about an expensive early termination
fee to cancel. In a rather shocking move, Verizon has announced that
effective 1/16/2011, their return policy will only include a 14-day trial
instead of the standard 30 days. This means that new customers will
only have 14 days during which they can cancel their new service and
return their equipment without incurring a cancellation fee.
Although this new policy isn't as generous as Sprint and AT&T's 30-day trial period, 14 days should still be plenty of time for users to test out their new equipment and make sure that the service is going to work for them. If you were considering ordering Verizon service in the coming weeks, you may want to order now(before 1/16) so that you can take advantage of the 30-day trial while it is still in existence!
