Seagate is producing a new HDD that will have an embedded 4G LTE module similar to a 4G LTE hotspot like the MiFi 4510L. According to Engadget the device will offer up to five hours of battery life when streaming, and supports three 802.11b/g/n WiFi capable devices. The unit is supposed to tap into a library of entertainment allowing users to download music, movies and photos. It's not clear how large the HDD will be, but can handle "over 300 HD movies," which would indicate a pretty large storage capacity. Unit pricing is still unknown and its not clear when the 4G LTE HDD will be available for purchase. Related Links: |
