Signing up for FedEx’s FREE notification is easy. Just go to http://fedex.com/notifyme

You can choose to be notified by a call or text to your mobile phone, landline, or email (if you’d prefer a call on your landline phone, no registration is required). Then, whenever making a purchase online, just remember to use the same phone number you registered (if mobile) or your landline. Say you don’t have a landline and you’d rather not give your mobile number. That’s okay, a Google Voice number will also work!

When registering, FedEx requires your first and last name, telephone number, and email address. After you submit the information you’ll immediately get an email confirmation. If choosing to receive notification via text message, you will also receive a text confirmation to which you must respond “YES” in order to complete the registration (you can also stop these messages at any time by replying “FEDEX STOP”).

Typically, FedEx will contact you a day before delivery and and give you an approximate delivery time. They’ll also let you know what they require to deliver it - such as a signature or payment. What if the you can’t be home at the time they give you? Don’t worry about it! When they notify you just ask for them to deliver it to a nearby FedEx location and they’ll hold it for you at no charge until you can pick it up. Some locations are open 24 hours a day and most until 9pm.
