T-Mobile USA spending $4 billion on LTE buildout
T-Mobile USA will be putting AT&T's cash from a failed merger
to build a new high speed 4G LTE network costing $4 billion. There
isn't a set date yet, but will be sometime next year placing them in
last place in the race to get 4G LTE deployed throughout the country.
Chief Executive Philipp Humm said the carrier had delayed deploying a
long-term strategy in anticipation of the merger with AT&T. With all
other carriers now carrying the Apple iPhone, T-Mobile would really
like to offer the iPhone 5 when it launches sometime this summer.
