Best Buy Connect Shutting Down 6/1/2012 Best Buy Connect is no longer accepting new customers and will be shutting down effective June 1, 2012. Best Buy has been closing stores, slashing employees, cutting costs and even losing a CEO lately. Best Buy Connect had offered WiMAX (4G) service using CLEAR. CLEAR announced recently that they were switching their network from WiMAX to LTE, so the 60 cities that are currently covered by WiMAX will never expand. For those that had already purchased a device and service, it will stop working on June 1st. Best Buy will be offering all customers a gift card via mail to help them transition to a new service.
