Wilson Electronics Announces Sleek 4G-A for AT&T 4G LTE; 4G-V Version for Verizon Also Coming Soon
Earlier this year, Wilson announced that they will soon be offering a new version of their popular Sleek cradle amplifier that will add support for Verizon 4G LTE (the Sleek 4G-V), and this week they have announced that a third version for AT&T's 4G LTE network will be available in June. The Sleek 4G-A, like the 4G-V, will support 2G and 3G technologies but will also add support for AT&T's 4G LTE network.
All versions of the Sleek operate in the same manner: the included magnetic mount antenna communicates with the cell tower, and the cradle (which has the amplifier built into it and is powered via USB or cigarette lighter plug) passively boosts the signal to a single phone or hotspot. The original Sleek, which has been enormously popular since its launch, does not cover the 4G LTE frequency, which is why these new versions are necessary. Since Verizon and AT&T uses different portions of the 700mhz frequency for their respective LTE networks, Wilson will be offering two different 4G versions, the 4G-V and 4G-A.
