AT&T secures deal with Sirius XM for 2.3Ghz LTE


AT&T recently filed with the FCC to propose a deal with Sirius XM, which would allow 4G LTE to run on the 2.3Ghz Wireless Communications Service. The specific frequency is typically reserved for satellite radio intersects and AT&T agreed to a 5Mhz dead zone on either end of Sirius XM’s frequencies. AT&T hasn’t received clearance from the FCC yet, and this could end up in a similar predicament that LightSquared found themselves in trying to get their 4G satellite network approved. Although AT&T is after a different frequency band, they’ve still got to worry about interfering with any Satellite based radio subscription service.
