iPhone Carrier Update - Verizon 14.1 Released 1/31/2013

Verizon has pushed a Carrier Update to all iOS devices running the latest 6.1 update tonight.  If you upgraded to iOS 6.1 the other day, you will either see a message in iTunes that indicates: "An update to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available.  Would you like to download it now?

From your iPhone/iPad, you can get the update directly by

1. Tap Settings > General > About.
2. Wait for the following alert to appear: (Carrier Settings Updated)
3. Tap OK to install the update.

Before the Carrier Update the following was installed:

• Carrier = Verizon 13.1
• PRL = 15192
• ERI =8

After the update the following was installed:

• Carrier = Verizon 14.1
• PRL = 15192
• ERI = 8

It is unclear exactly what changes Verizon has pushed during this update.  Usually, we will see a PRL (Preferred Roaming List), which allows your phone to connect to more towers (same as dialing *228 on some phones)
