Pantech UML295 Issues with MBP & iMac (USB 3.0 issue)
If you have a brand new Pantech UML295 and you are trying to insert it into your Mac with USB 3.0 port (MacBook Pro with Retina, New iMac), your Pantech UML295 will not work (tested with Mac OS X 10.8.2). The problem is that the UML295 does not appear to work with the USB 3.0 port. If you plug the UML295 into a USB Hub, or even the USB port on your Apple wired keyboard, then the UML295 will instantly start working. We hope Apple fixes this issue soon. If you are having this issue, please leave your comments below, along with what hardware and version of Mac OS X you are running.
To see if your UML295 is working, you can open Preferences -> Network and you should see the Pantech UML295 as being connected. Until Apple fixes this issue, plugging the UML295 directly into your MacBook with Retina OR new iMac - the UML295 will not be recognized.
