Verizon VZAccess 5.4.0 & PC5220 - Upgrade Warning |

 Users of this EVDO Forums thread, report that after upgrading to VZAccess 5.4.0 for their PC5220 card, they have gained some functionality and lost other functionality. So, please be aware of the changes BEFORE upgrading.During the upgrade to VZAccess 5.4.0, your PC5220 will automatically obtain a firmware upgrade, this firmware upgrade adds text messaging to the PC5220 (the PC5220 was the only EVDO card not to support text messaging). However, users have reported the following changes. The programming mode to block out 1xRTT signals and only listen for EVDO is not longer supported (See Sniffing EVDO tip). Basically, this firmware upgrade breaks the Mobile Connection Manager (MCM). So, be aware before performing this upgrade. Related Articles: |
