Verizon EVDO Static IP Address |

When you use Verizon's BroadbandAccess (EVDO), you are assigned a dynamic IP Address. The IP Address changes each time you connect. For some uses, a static IP Address may be needed. Verizon DOES offer a Static IP Address when you sign up for new service, HOWEVER, it costs $500 additional for this feature. This is a one time fee and it is very costly. Depending on your application and needs, you may be able to use Dynamic DNS Services (some are free), to accomplish the same thing. For 99% of users out there, you will not need a Static IP Address. You can still check email, use your browser, VPN, and most any other TCP/IP application without problems with a Dynamic IP Address. FYI, Sprint doesn't offer static IP Addresses.
