 The PC5740 card is the only card that Verizon stores and Circuit Cities sell. Is it the best EVDO card? No. Is it the newest EVDO card? Yes. Does the PC5740 work with Macs? No!. The only issue with the PC5740 card is that it is the ONLY EVDO card without an antenna port. When you are in a 'signal challenged' area, you may need to add a booster antenna or signal amplifier. With all other EVDO cards (i.e. the KPC650, Merlin 620, Sierra AC580, etc...), you can add antennas and amplifiers. If you are only planning to use your EVDO card in a few places (e.g. home and work) and you are positive that those areas have excellent strong coverage, you may never need a booster antenna and the PC5740 is a good choice. If you'll be using it all over the country or will be traveling a lot, remember that many people in these situations like to carry a booster antenna. If you travel to a weaker signal area, or if the hotel room, convention, client site, or building you are in needs a little extra help with signal, you will be glad to have the option of adding an antenna.
