Verizon Wireless Kiosks Open Inside BJ�s Wholesale Clubs Store-Within-A-Store Concept Brings �Most Reliable� Wireless Services to 128 BJ�s Wholesale Clubs

BEDMINSTER, NJ and NATICK, MA � Verizon Wireless and BJ�s Wholesale Club (NYSE:BJ) announced today a relationship that brings Verizon Wireless� store-within-a-store concept to more than 128 BJ�s locations. BJ�s Members now have easy access to the latest wireless phones, devices and accessories, plus a variety of service plans on the nation�s most reliable wireless network.

�This relationship is important to Verizon Wireless� effort to meet our customers where they shop,� said John Colaiuti, Verizon Wireless, vice president � national distribution. �The customers walking into BJ�s are the same people who want Verizon Wireless service. They place a premium on quality, service and value. By placing Verizon Wireless employees in the BJ�s locations, customers also get added convenience and assistance from the best wireless sales people in the industry.�

Members will be able to take advantage of convenient services available at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, including account look-up and bill pay. Verizon Wireless will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the BJ�s kiosks, including hiring, inventory, displays and any interior or exterior signage. BJ�s Members can expect the same high quality products and services they would receive in a standalone Verizon Wireless Communications Store.

Verizon Wireless offers a wide array of wireless services, including BroadbandAccess, wireless broadband service with download speeds of 400 to 700 kilobits per second; V CAST, Verizon Wireless� multimedia service; and Get It Now�, the virtual shopping mall of services offering hundreds of applications for download including games, ring tones, productivity tools and more.

Verizon Wireless continues to lead the industry in customer retention, demonstrating that customers trust and rely on Verizon Wireless for their wireless needs. In the third quarter of 2005, Verizon Wireless� customer turnover was lowest in the industry for the fourth consecutive quarter. During that same quarter, the company added 1.9 million customers, more than any other carrier.

Verizon Wireless has invested over $3 billion this year to strengthen the reach and reliability of its wireless network and continues its leadership in the deployment of wireless broadband services. The 2005 investment brings Verizon Wireless� total network investment for 2004 and the first half of 2005 to more than $8 billion.
