EVDO TurboCharge, Speed up EVDO |

Want to increase your PC card's performance? Here is a look at the current ways to speed up your EVDO PC Cards:
The "?" indicates that we have not yet tested the TCP Optimize trick on these cards. Indication from users is that they already optimize the TCP stack when you install them (RWIN setting). The EVDO Antenna gives you the most consisitent performance increase. Venturi Compression will downsize graphics and do some additional compression to give the illusion of a speed increase. If you are downloading a 20mb file, you still have to move 20mb, so compression may not help. There have been some mixed results with TCP Compression (see EVDO Forums). We will be reviewing Signal Amplifiers shortly. You can download Venturi Compression for FREE (we do not charge you for the links, just click here and there is a link to download the software). Please read the Venturi Compression article first to determine if the pros outweigh the cons for YOU (it doesn't work with VPN). Also, please read our article on Benchmarking. Some people are using false/impossible claims to get you to purchase a souped out EVDO card, but guess what? All the information to soup up your PC 5220 is available for free, so don't waste $289!. A booster antenna will help considerably in bringing in weaker signals for EVDO and 1xRTT |
