KPC650 vs PC5740 |

Now that Mac Users have a choice between EVDO cards, we decided to do a benchmark comparing the two. Below are the tests comparing a PC5740 vs. KPC650 on a PowerBook 15 inch:Insert a PC5740 into our PowerBook 15, we get 1 signal bar![]() We did a benchmark at DSLReports and we get 232 download / 106 upload speeds![]() Next, we try the Kyocera KPC650 in the same laptop, 3 minutes later. We get 3 bars.![]() We do a benchmark at DSLReports and we get 509 download / 106 upload speeds![]() Additional tests. Later in the day, we did another test, and received: KPC650 678 down / 115 up (4 bars). The PC5740 also now has 4 bars, but our tests show 249K down / 81 up. The PC5740 is a good entry level EVDO card, but the KPC650 outperforms it. The KPC650 has an antenna port which allows you to add an external antenna port or signal amplifier.
