Kyocera Released Firmware RK1006 for KR1Adds PC5740 Support, Signal Indicator and other bug fixesThe PC5740 is one of the more popular EVDO cards sold by Verizon and Sprint Stores (it might not be the best, since it is the only card without an antenna port). Now with the release of firmware RK1006, this card is now supported in the KR1. When you plug an EVDO card in a supported laptop, you see the signal strength. When plugging the card in the KR1, you would not see signal strength. Starting with RK1006, you can now see signal strength in the web admin page: ![]() Downloading Firmware Update You can visit the Kyocera Firmware Update Page to download the updated firmware. If you purchased your KR1 from our sister site, Booster-Antenna.com, we will be sending out an email with a link to our Firmware Upgrade Manual on Thursday 7/19/2006. Please follow our guide when upgrading. There is a chance you can turn your KR1 "into a brick" (e.g. failed firmware upgrade - completely makes KR1 non-functional). Included in guide is "unbricking" information. Related Articles:
