Verizon Wireless and AirLink Communications Introduce Wireless Rugged Modems for Verizon Wireless' EV-DO NetworkRaven-E and PinPoint-E Devices Enable Pervasive Connectivity for High-Speed Ethernet Applications BASKING RIDGE, N.J. and HAYWARD, Calif., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless, the nation's premier provider of wireless products and services, and AirLink Communications, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of fixed and mobile wireless data solutions, today announced that AirLink's line of rugged, intelligent modems are certified and immediately available for use with Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service that runs on the company's Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) network. The certification allows AirLink's Raven Ethernet(TM) (Raven-E) and PinPoint Ethernet(TM) (PinPoint-E) wireless modems to be marketed and sold to a vast corporate customer base that wants their wireless data to run on the most award-winning wireless broadband network in the United States. AirLink's Raven-E and PinPoint-E intelligent modems are powered by the AirLink embedded operating system, ALEOS(TM). Through Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service, customers benefit from the higher data rates offered by EV-DO technology, with typical download speeds from 400 to 700 kbps. Raven-E Raven-E is an intelligent wireless gateway optimal for providing network connectivity for any high-reliability/high-availability application.
