Have you noticed some new questions asking for a 6-10 digit PIN code and a Security Question on the 3Gstore.com Sprint Order Form recently? The 6-10 digit PIN (all numbers) and Security Question is required for all new Sprint Acounts (EVDO Data Cards or Phones).

Why is Sprint doing this?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recent guidelines is to provide enhanced protection around your company and personal information.

To enhance account protection, Sprint requires you to secure your account with a 6- to 10-digit numeric personal identification number (PIN).

Starting Dec. 9 2007, if you call Customer Care or visit a Sprint authorized agent for account-related services (such as adding a new line of service), you will be required to provide your PIN as proof you are the account holder.

Your Account PIN must be entered when you register for access to Sprint.com, if you want to be able to manage your account online. However, your PIN is not used to sign on to sprint.com. Instead, you use a separate sprint.com username and password.

However, you can easily view and modify your PIN by signing on to sprint.com and going to Settings and Passwords.

If you forget your PIN, you can retrieve it in several ways:
  • When you establish your PIN, you must select a security question and provide your own answer to it. If you forget your PIN, you can answer your security question to retrieve it.
  • You can have your PIN or a PIN retrieval code sent to you via email, text message or regular mail.
These preferences can be established in the Settings and Passwords area of sprint.com, or by contacting Sprint Customer Care.

Remember to keep your PIN private. If you feel someone has gained access to your PIN without your authorization, change it immediately.
If you have yet to establish a PIN for your existing Sprint Account, you can by calling:
  • For business accounts, call Sprint @ 800-927-2199
  • For individual accounts call Sprint @ 888-211-4727
