Verizon Wireless Talks About Tiered Pricing

Chief Executive Ivan Seidenberg from Verizon Wireless said "company's wireless arm expects to introduce its own form of tiered data pricing, possibly over the next four to six months". These moves are to preserve the network and might not necessarily pertain to 3G devices which feature 5GB ($59.99) and 250MB ($29.99) plans. However, they're probably referring to their 4G LTE network which will be released in mid November to 30 NFL cities. This really doesn't come as a shock as AT&T has moved to tiered pricing on the iPhone 4 and a usage based model for Sprint could be also happen soon. Nobody has quoted any prices yet on their 4G service so it will be interesting on what their initial pricing will be. We know that 3G and 4G service has been a lifesaver for users located in rural locations, so we hope that the tiered pricing will be more reasonable than current 3G data service caps.
