Wilson Electronics Cellular Signal Boosters Help Arizona Deputies Respond Faster

According to Wilson Electronics, the Yavapai County (Arizona) Sheriff's office has upgraded more than 120 of their rural patrol vehicles by installing Wilson amplified solutions. These signal boosters allow their deputies to use on board computers and cellular modems to connect to the police department's network, allowing them access to reports on the move in remote areas of the country. YCSO Media/Crime Prevention Coordincator Dwight D'Evelyn said "under the direction of Sheriff Steve Waugh, YCSO has been committed providing the latest mobile data technology to its deputies and the Wilson signal boosters have been a critical component in allowing this process to move forward".

These repeater systems are becoming more popular amongst law enforcement agencies across the U.S as the need for mobile internet increases. They've found that in remote locations the Wilson repeater systems have been necessary to maintain a reliable connection with their department computer systems. These systems work by attaching a small antenna on the exterior of the vehicle that is run into an amplifier that rebroadcasts a stronger inside to their cellular equipment.
