Sprint to Cap Mobile Hotspots on 10/2/2011 - Rumor

Earlier this month Sprint made some changes changes to their ETF and "Satisfaction Guarantee", and it now looks like their smartphone plans are changing too. According to sources Sprint will be eliminating their unlimited plan on their mobile hotspot found on devices like the HTC EVO 3D and the Samsung Galaxy S II. At this time the feature is available for an additional $29.99/mo and features unlimited data on both the 3G and 4G network. This looks to be changing to a limit of 5GB and there won't be any grandfathering, which means any users that have unlimited plans will soon need to get used to a 5GB limit. If you go over this limit you'll be charged five cents per MB, so we advise being careful on how you use your data.

This change will have NO EFFECT on users utilizing 3G/4G wireless Sprint modems and only affects smartphone users. This could likely be another move in preparation for the Sprint iPhone 5 that is set to debut sometime in October. Tell us in the comments below what you think about Sprint's idea on capping smartphone users!
