Sprint Confirms Plan to Stick With Unlimited Data

Sprint's Chief Technology Officer Stephen Bye indicated they plan to keep unlimited data plans at a GigaOm's Mobilize conference held in San Francisco yesterday. Other carriers like Verizon and AT&T are implementing data caps and network management tools to slow down the top 5 percent of users. Bye said "There's clearly a cost to support unlimited," while indicating not every subscriber is a high data user, and unlimited plans make things simple for customers. They don't have to worry about any hidden costs or determining what data tier they should select. Sprint's goal is to give people what they want, cheap plans, great phones and unlimited data plans.
