Beware of Mobile Threats Over The Holiday Season

According to PC World Android powered mobile devices and Apple computers top the scam and security threats for this holiday season. McAfee has indicated that there has been a 76% increase in malware in Android devices over the second quarter of 2011. They've also released a list of 12 Christmas scams that buyers should be aware of to stay safe over the holiday season. One of the most popular method scammers are using is QR codes, which can lead people to a virus that could attack your phone. If you like using QR codes make sure that you know the code is coming from a trusted source, or you may find yourself with a nasty virus on your smartphone. Other scams consist of fake Facebook promotions or contest, including new ones that offer two free airline tickets.
