AT&T Loses Throttling Case, Customer Wins $935

Last month an AT&T user was awarded $850 by a judge after AT&T throttled his unlimited data plan. AT&T didn't want to pay at first and planned to appeal the decision, however, they've now decided to pay the judgement. AT&T ended up paying $935, the $850 judgement plus $85 in court costs. The case winner Matt Spaccarelli tweeted a picture of his check for $935 showing some customers won't stand won't stand to have their unlimited data plan throttled. Shortly after the news broke about the suit AT&T changed their unlimited data plans and will now start throttling at 3GB instead of 2GB, which is the same as their larger tiered data plan.
