KRACK Vulnerability Updates

The recently announced KRACK WiFi security weakness is a vulnerability in the WPA2 WiFi security protocol. WPA2 is the standard encryption for all WiFi networks, and an attack against it is a major discovery. While we won't go into the details of how this works, its important to realize what it can do. KRACK can allow network attacks that can steal passwords, inject data, push malware into sites, and more.

At 3Gstore we carry and support a lot of WiFi enabled products, and we've compiled a list of our vendors current responses.

Cradlepoint: "Cradlepoint is incorporating a patch into the next version of NetCloud OS that addresses this vulnerability. NetCloud OS 6.4.2 is expected to be released Tuesday, October 31st, 2017."

Ruckus: "While be believe the risk associated with this vulnerability is low, we will be releasing multiple software patches beginning October 30th."

Sierra Wireless: "...are working to implement and validate software updates that affect the vulnerability."

Peplink/Pepwave: "We are developing firmware to address the vulnerability. Release 7.0.3 for MAX and SOHO. Release 6.3.5 for previous generation of MAX and SOHO, which can only support firmware 6.x series. Release 1.1.1 for Device Connector Rugged. Release 1.0.30 for Surf On-The-Go. ETA for the firmware is within two weeks."

Accelerated: "Firmware release will be available for download on October 27th, 2017."
