1 Outlet Remote Power Switch (EZ11B) Application Issue Notification

On 10/25/2017, 3Gstore was alerted to an issue with the 1 Outlet Remote Power Switch mobile application. There was an unscheduled upgrade to the application server on 10/24/2017, and that upgrade failed. Maintenance of the application server has been completed, however the side effect is that units paired to the mobile application starting 01/01/2017 are no longer able to connect. Mobile application users attempting to access a 1 Outlet Remote Power Switch added within this time frame will be presented with an error in the mobile application.

Settings on the 1 Outlet Remote Power Switch have been preserved. If you have previously configured automatic resets, scheduled power events, IP information, etc. that information will not be lost and the switch will continue to operate like normal. Only access via the mobile application is affected.

There are a few resolutions to regain application access.

Android Users - You must open the ezOutlet application and manually delete the paired outlet(s) that are no longer responding. Once deleted, you can then go through the pairing process again and add the outlet to the application. You’ll once again have application control of the switch.

iOS Users - Engineers are working on a fix that would automatically resolve the connectivity issues between the application and affected switches. This is a work in progress and is expected late next week, however there are no guarantees this resolution will come to light. If you need to gain immediate access to your switch, you must open the ezOutlet application and manually delete the paired outlet(s) that are no longer responding. Once deleted, you can then go through the pairing process again and add the outlet to the application. You’ll once again have application control of the switch.

Mobile Application Pairing Instructions

  1. Connect the Single Outlet Remote Power Switch to the included power cord and plug into a power source.

  2. Connect one end of the included Ethernet Cable to the back of the Single Outlet Remote Power Switch, and the other end to one of the available LAN ports on your router.

  3. Download and install the free application “EZOUTLET” via the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

  4. Launch the application. Select the “Add” button (for iOS), or the “+” button (for Android). Another screen will pop up. Enter the 5-digit master password found on the bottom of your switch:

  5. Press the “Sync” button on the back of your switch once to put the outlet in “Add” mode. The LEDs will blink from Green > Red > Yellow, for 3 minutes until the device is successfully added. If you are unable to get the device paired within 3 minutes, you will need to start over.

  6. Touch the “Save” button (for iOS), or the “Add” button (for Android) in the application and the outlet will be paired. *Up to 4 iOS or Android devices can be paired to one switch.

  7. If you ever need to unpair the switch from your Android/iOS device, go to the application, select edit, and touch the MINUS button.

  8. TO REMOVE ALL APP USERS: press and hold the “Sync” button on the switch for 10 seconds. The YELLOW light will flash once, and the switch will restart.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this, and we are working on steps to prevent this from happening again in the future.
