You can easily share your EVDO connection with other WiFi or Ethernet uses, without purchasing any additional software or hardware.
Detailed step by step directions now available.
Here are the steps to share your EV-DO Connection over WiFi under Windows XP:
- Connect with the EVDO Card.
- View your network connections and look for the verizon connection that says: NationalAccess - BroadbandAccess
- Find the one whose status is set to "Connected"
- Right click > Properties >Advanced Tab
- Check the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet Connection"
- If you have more than one way to get on the internet, i.e., a wireless card or eithernet connection, you will see a dropdown box. Choose the connection that you wish to share on. If it's your laptop and you want to share from your wireless device, choose that one.
- Click Ok.
- You will have to disconnect and reconnect your 5220 card for the changes to take effect.
- You will notice a hand and a checkmark on that connection indicating the connection is now shared.
- Also, you will have to make sure that the other client computers are set to automatically receive their IP address by DHCP.
